About Us
Animarquee is an online animation guide platform based in New York City. It focuses on highlighting animation culture through monthly listings, editorial content, events, and an established ethos. Through the curation of both a digital and physical presence, Animarquee aims to properly track, archive, and promote any animated-related event, work, and person.
Newly established, Animarquee is the only central listing resource of all animation events within New York City. With a goal to connect and promote events and screenings that draw animators and animation enthusiasts from all across the city; our selection is meant to reflect the diverse, eclectic, and historical animation community within New York City. Everything from big name retrospectives to micro film festivals, our hope is to promote this rich community to further connect and expand it.
With a deep respect and love for animation, our aim is to always ensure quality curation and up-to-date archiving and promotion of a plethora of events. In addition, our team is dedicated to the growth and strengthening of the NYC animation community and history.
Animarquee was established in June of 2025 and are the official promoters of ASIFA-East.

How is Animarquee operated?
We are a small team of dedicated and passionate animation lovers who volunteer their time to Animarquee. No one is paid and everything is operated in the free-time of the team.
What are the restrictions to your curation and listings?
Our focus is on animation and animated related works. We do not include live-action or general film, instead aiming to focus on 2D, 3D, stop-motion, hybrid, digital, and analog across all genres and time periods. We also don’t often focus on mainstream coverage such as international industry news or bigger budget films (such as Disney or Dreamworks). Furthermore, our focus is on New York City’s animation culture specifically.
Can I volunteer with Animarquee?
Absolutely! While we can’t always promise positions immediately, we are always seeking assistance with event attendance and tracking. To express interest feel free to email us at contact@animarquee.com.
Do you cover animation for kids or commercial/TV animation?
We focus on underrepresented and artistically ambitious work, but we don’t exclude genres. If a commercial or children's animation offers cultural, aesthetic, or thematic richness, we’re interested.
